History Museum Thank You Letter
April 8, 2009
Dear Bart,
This letter is to thank you, and thank you
profusely, for the wonderful and professional job your men did in
moving the museum’s contents from three offices in Office Park to
the Young & Vann building in late March.
(I noticed the mention in the
Birmingham News, and am glad your company
got the recognition it certainly earned for that job.)
I’m sure all the moves are difficult ones, but
this presented many challenges to us, including our concern for the
number of old and fragile artifacts, documents, and so forth and the
fact that heavy cases had to be moved from various other locations.
Perhaps the biggest concern was the potential cost to our small
nonprofit. Your donation of the move – at no cost to us – signified
one of the greatest and most useful contributions we’ve received
from any company in our five-year history. I and the board members
would gladly provide a testimonial for McCorquodale Transfer if one
is ever needed.
Let me add that your movers were polite and
considerate throughout, as was the coordinator, Seneca Reid, who
smoothly organized the entire effort through our volunteer Gary
Gerlach.
In closing, let me say again that the staff and
board of the Birmingham-Jefferson History Museum would consider it a
privilege to recommend your company and your staff to potential
customers.
Yours truly,
Bayard Tynes, president

Thank You Letter
Dear Mr. McCorquodale,
When I was told a shipment of donations was
coming from Alabama, I never would have expected such a great amount
– BOXES and BOXES of water, clothes, blankets, towels, canned goods,
and toiletries! I want to thank you so very much for your generosity
and thoughtfulness, which is both remarkable and extremely
encouraging to the residents and workers trying to rebuild this
great city.
New Orleans has found a special place in the
hearts of many, and we are truly appreciative for your gift to
Trinity and Mobile loaves and fishes. Your kindness is overwhelming
and the recipients of your collected gift, both in New Orleans and
surrounding areas affected by Ike and Gustav, were overjoyed.
Best wishes and many thanks,
Sarah Minge
